The first time I spoke in front of a group, I froze. It was 10th grade Advanced Biology and I had to give a report on the Lifecycle of the Filarial Worm with my best friend Barb. Thankfully, Barb covered and saved me from a parasitic disaster.

In 11th grade, I was a Rotary exchange student to the Philippines where several problems with slide projectors at Rotary meetings forced me to improvise and fill the allotted 15 minutes with tales of enjoying Filipino culture and food while making friends with the cockroach in my closet. The Rotary business men laughed and suddenly I realized that speaking could be fun.

To the amazement of my family, the previously shy girl with stage-fright returned from the Orient to audition for (and get!) the part of Graduation Speaker for the class of 1989 (300 students plus family!) What had originally been terrifying had now become exhilerating. I was hooked!

The summer before heading off to college, I gave my life to God and was baptized into His body. Now my life took on a new purpose: learning about my Creator and teaching others about Him.

Jump to 2018, and you now find me speaking at events in both English and Spanish, in the US and in Mexico. No longer talking about a cockroach, I now centers my talks around God, his Word and provision.

My passion is encouraging women to live a life of dedication to their Savior, in the fullest way possible. I believes the Bible has the answer to whatever we seek; we just need to search with an open heart.

Some of the topics I really enjoy speaking about are:

  • Go in Peace (previously titled: No Expectations), how to manage our expectations on a journey of frustration, anger and disappointment.
  • Obedient Ever After: Exchanging the search for happiness for a life rooted in joy
  • Gifts and Ministries: women at work in the church
  • really just about any topic pertaining to women’s lives today!
